Week 5 (28/09/2015)

This week we have shared our ‘Under the sea’ homework. There were some brilliant sea creature super heroes! We have listened to the story of The Rainbow Fish and watched a short story called The Little Boat. We have been trying really hard to use interesting words in our writing. We can do better than ‘nice’ and ‘good’! Ask us to share some of the brilliant words we thought of to describe the Rainbow Fish.

Our maths work this week has been shapes and symmetry. We have cut out and sorted shapes, according to whether they are symmetrical or not and we have tried to draw the other half of shapes to make them symmetrical. We have also been looking at Venn diagrams and Carroll diagrams. We now know how to sort 2D shapes according to their properties, such as curved/straight edges.

In art we designed our own version of the Rainbow Fish using oil pastels. There were some very colourful results!

TASK:  Who can create a symmetrical picture or pattern, using 2d shapes?
