Continuing with our work on Stig of the Dump, in English this week we have been writing police reports for the break in that happened at Granny’s house. We thought carefully about making sure we included all of the facts about what happened. We also continued to work on varying our sentence starters and using a wider range of conjunctions,
In Maths, we have been solving subtraction calculations by counting on a number line. We have thought about how to draw the number line and where to position the numbers. We then learnt how to jump on to the next 10 and 100 etc. Finally we added up all of the ‘jumps’ in order to find the answer. Ask us how to use a number line to solve 4381 – 3283 = ?
In Geography, we continued our work on Europe, we located European capital cities using an atlas.
This week in Computing, we have started to create a class database which includes information such as our favourite subject at school and our favourite sport.
