Week 4 (13/03/17)

We have been learning about the Dutch artist Piet Mondrian.

His paintings are filled with straight lines and primary colours, black, or grey, and nearly all of them are coloured; only a few are left white.

We had a go at creating some of our own artwork in the style of Mondrian by using coloured card.

In English we have been reading stories about William and Jane and have used these stories as a stimulus to write our own stories. We look at our work on the overhead projector and talk about the good features in our work and the things we need to improve. This helps us to do better the next time.

This term we have been learning about addition or subtraction. This week in our maths lessons we have been doing both. It can be tricky as we have to look carefully at the symbols to make sure we know whether to add or subtract.

Have a go at doing some of your own number sentences and draw some pictures to go with them to show what is happening.

If you do some examples we can stick them in our Class One Homework Book.
