We’re going to tell you about our favourite parts of this week.
Science
This week we have been learning about the phases of the moon.
Did you know that we only see one face of the moon in our whole entire lifetime?
Did you know that the earth spins around an axis and the moon rotates around the earth?
Mr Silvester explained all this to us by walking around the class with a ball in his hand, acting as the moon; showing us how we can only see one side. He taught us what the phases of the moon are called such as the waning gibbous, waning crescent, new moon, waxing crescent, waxing gibbous and full moon. Our space display is looking really great and we have been researching lots of space facts.
Tuesdays
Tuesday is probably the most popular day in Year 6 due to the fact we have German, P.E. and P.S.H.C.E. Year 6 is getting ready for secondary school and it’s a chance for us to get used to having different teachers and moving around the school. We have our lessons in different classrooms or outside and we like the change in routine.
These are just some of the things we enjoy.
