In English we have continued to read The Firework Maker’s daughter, we have been thinking carefully about what is happening in the text and we especially liked the part where the pirates fall out of the boat! We have also written diary entries and we completed a thought-tracking drama activity.
In Maths we have been revising place value, thinking about what each digit represent – challenge us to read a big number! We have also learnt about the < and > signs and we have been working on subtraction. Next week, we will be looking at times tables and multiplication.
In Art we finished off our Egyptian wrist cuffs and we are eagerly waiting for the glue to dry!
We had fun in History on Monday looking at pictures of objects from Ancient Egypt and trying to guess what they were.
Homework task for this week – The children have a maths subtraction sheet. This work needs to be handed in by Tuesday 22nd September. Homework diaries will also be collected in next week, house points will be given to children who have read at least 4 times at home and have had their book signed by an adult.
