Week 2 (12/09/2016)

This week we have begun our London topic. We have thought of lots of interesting questions that we would like to find the answers to. We have been focusing, in particular, on non-fiction writing and we have created our own fact files about different London landmarks. We also looked at the River Thames and, in pairs, drew our own Thames pictures. We used maps to help us name some of the bridges that cross the Thames in London. We also drew and labelled London landmarks along the river.

In maths we have been focussing on comparing and ordering numbers. We have been using the greater than, less than and equals signs to create number sentences, e.g. 35 > 18. Can you give us some pairs of numbers so that we can practise writing the correct sign?

In PE we have been doing gymnastics. We are focussing on rolling, turning, balancing and travelling. Ask us to show you our balances on different parts of our bodies.

In art we have produced some wonderful pictures of the London skyline. We then decided if it was day or night and made the colour of the sky match the time of day.

Your child should have brought home the new Homework menu this week, so please do ask if, for any reason, your child doesn’t have one.

Have a lovely weekend
