We’ve had a busy week in Class 4 and the children are now really settled into their new routines.
In English and guided reading, we have started to read ‘The Promise’ by Nicola Davies. Firstly, we looked carefully at the front cover and thought about what the promise might be. We read the first few pages and we discussed what we know about the girl. We have spent a lot of time thinking about how the city is described and we have been writing our own descriptions of a city.
In Maths we have been working on place value. We started off counting in 50’s, 100’s, 25’s and 1000’s.
In Computing we experimented with Scratch and over the next few weeks we will be creating stories linked to our English work.
Today, we started our Geography topic where we will be exploring the question ‘How has our local area changed over time?’ To start off with, we thought about where we are, we used Google Earth to look at Europe, UK, England, Oxfordshire, Wallingford and Crowmarsh Gifford.
If you have any questions please make an appointment to see me or I am happy to be emailed at ktwo1968@crowmarsh-gifford.oxon.sch.uk Please avoid emailing about any matters that need attention urgently in case I don’t see it in time!
Have a lovely weekend.
