Dear Parents/Carers,
This week we have started our ‘Nursery Rhyme’ theme. The children asked questions before the holiday about what they wanted to learn about. They asked questions such as ‘How do cars move?’, ‘How do ovens cook?’, ‘How are toys made?’ This week we started to answer the first question ‘How do cars move’.
We talked about what we did on our holiday and the different vehicles we used, the children then used their knowledge of letters and sounds to write down the vehicles they used the children drew pictures with the adult in their family and talked about their holiday with them. We used books and the computer to answer questions about cars that we has including ‘what is the gear stick for?’ and ‘when were cars invented?’ We sang the nursery rhyme ‘Wheels on the bus’ and as a class changed the words to use information we found out.
Next week we will create potions, including firework potions. During our hall time next week we will move rhythmically to Handel’s firework music.
Have a lovely weekend, stay safe a warm at firework celebrations,
Miss Zimmerman, Mrs Bowden and Mrs Roberts.
