Week 1 (05/06/17)

We hope that you all had an enjoyable half term.

In English this week, we started our new text ‘The Wolves in the Walls’ by Neil Gaiman (Illustrated by Dave McKean). So far we have thought about the style of the book and the way that the illustrations help to create atmosphere within the story. We have also been looking at the use of patterned and repeating language. We will be continuing to explore this book over the next few weeks.

In Maths we have been continuing with multiplication. We have learnt how to write multiplication equality calculations using the = sign e.g. 5 x 4 = ? x ?  We have also been thinking about multiplying 3 numbers together e.g. 3 x 4 x 5 = ?

On Monday, we started our new Computing unit of work based on silent movies. We listened to the music of a silent movie and thought about what could be happening. We then watched ‘Rescued by Rover’ and we learnt about what silent movies are. Over the next few weeks we will be planning, filming and editing our own silent movies.
