Week 5 (04/02/19)

In English this week we completed our setting descriptions. We really thought about how we could edit and improve our work based on the feedback that had been given. Later in the week, we had another recap of how we can use fronted adverbials in our work and we learnt about speech punctuation. Next week we will be writing an alternative ending to ‘How to Live Forever’. In reading this week, we wrote summaries of ‘How to Live Forever’ in the style of a tweet!

This week in maths we finished off our work on multiplication and division problems using the 9 times table. We have been learning how to multiply three numbers together e.g. 3 x 5 x 4  = ?  Next week we will be investigating factor pairs of numbers. We are using Times Table Rockstars a little more in school, please remember that this can be accessed at home and is a great resource for learning times tables.

In geography this week we looked more closely at the remote village of Chan’gou in China. We have looked at the geographical features of the area and we have made comparisons between the village and our local area. Next week, we will be researching and presenting an geographical argument for whether we would or wouldn’t want to live in Chan’gou.

Please remember to keep reading regularly, children are expected to hand in their reading records to be checked on a Monday morning.
