Week 5 (2/10/17)

In English we have been continuing to increase our understanding of grammar diagramming. We have been learning how to change a question into a statement in order to complete the diagram. We have also been continuing to read The Promise and we have been looking at how the mood of the people in the illustrations has changed from being mean and hard to much more joyful.

On Wednesday, we all really enjoyed the Pobble writing workshop. Class 4 wrote some fantastic stories about travelling back in time to Ancient Egypt.

In Maths we have been rounding 4 digit numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000. By drawing a number line and using the rule of 5 we have been identifying whether to round a number up or down. This is one of the key skills on the Maths home learning grid, please continue to practise at home.

There has been some excellent homework come in this week including a model Shaduf and several very detailed maps of Ancient Egypt. Should anyone wish to complete home learning on PowerPoint (where appropriate to the task) please can work be emailed to ktwo1968@crowmarsh-gifford.oxon.sch.uk
