Week 3 (19/06/17)

In English this week we have written our own endings to ‘The Wolves in the Walls’.  We worked carefully to edit and improve our work. Towards the end of the week we finished reading the book and found out what really happened when the people came out of the walls. Next week we will be reading ‘Wolves’ by Emily Gravett and we will be planning and writing a comparison of the two texts.

In Maths we have been working on written methods for division. We have been using the grid method to multiply 2 and 3 digit numbers by a one digit number.

In history this week we learnt about Roman roads. We found out that the Romans built straight roads so that they could get to places quickly and could easily see the Celts approaching in battle. We learnt that the Romans used a Groma in order to mark out the straight road. Then we went out in the sunshine and had a go at creating our own Roman road!
