In English, we have continued to work on comparing the opening of the book and film versions of The Secret Garden. We thought about how we could improve our work from last week and we are really getting the hang of how to track our own writing targets. Later in the week, we started to look at play scripts. We have been thinking about the ways that play scripts are different to stories and we have started to re-write an extract of The Secret Garden as a play script.
In Maths, we have continued to work on written addition. We have been using a written column method with decomposition. We have been working hard on this to ensure that we all really understand the place value of the numbers. Ask us to explain how we could calculate 2342 + 4829 =
We spent all of Monday afternoon taking the photographs for our stop-frame animations, next week we will be using Windows Movie Maker to create and edit our short films.
In Geography over the past few weeks we have been thinking about the UK in general. This week we started to focus on Cardiff. We started off by thinking about the route that we could take if we were to drive from Wallingford to Cardiff. We thought about the roads we would go on and towns/cites/ landmarks that we would pass. Class 4 were fascinated by the Severn Crossing so we spent some time looking at pictures and finding out some key facts!
