Although the weather has been chilly this week, we have used it as a great opportunity to go outside and measure the temperature. We used a thermometer to measure how cold it has been in the mornings and checked the temperature throughout the day at playtimes. We know that there are some numbers below zero.
Following our theme of fairy tales, we have moved on to read The Three Little Pigs. We used a series of pictures to sequence the events in the story and have also used puppets to act out the story. We have learnt to draw a pig with a wiggly tale.
Next week we will be enjoying a new story, The Stick Man. We are planning to go for a Winter Walk on Monday morning to collect sticks so that we can make our own stick men.
A pair of wellies will be useful as it might be wet underfoot.
In maths we have learnt about ordering numbers. We have been deciding which is the smallest or the greatest and ordering numbers that belong in between.
Christmas Cakes
Well done and thank you to all those who have brought in money, an apron and most importantly an empty tin to bake a Christmas cake in next week.
Is anyone is available next Tuesday morning at 10.30 to assist with cake making?
Thank You
Thank you to the parents who have offered to come to school on Saturday afternoon at 2pm to work in the courtyard.
Have a great weekend.
