Our times tables exploration continues with more games and now we are expanding our knowledge by competing against each other and against Mr Silvester!
We are looking at the questions to justify rounding numbers: Why is it? Why is it not? We have been investigating place value and writing out large numbers in words and digits.
Grammar and English
To diagram a sentence in more detail we are able to now identify an adjective by asking the questions about the subject or object with: Whose? Which one? How many? What kind? As we have discovered, they are not always obvious. By using this same strategy we can also identify an Adverb in a sentence by asking these questions: How? When? Where? To what extent? Why?
ADVERBS modify verbs, adjectives and adverbs.
To diagram a question we need to turn it into a statement first.
Daughter of the Sea by Bernie Doherty has been the source of our learning how to construct an effective plan. Our plan will be what we use when we answer the question “What can you tell about the writer’s style?
We are perfecting our written answers by using the Point Evidence Explain strategy.
Computers
In computers we are making our own Worlds with Kodu and planning out our e-safety films on cyber bullying.
Art
By using just a pencil we can produce a WWI atmospheric drawing. We shade an area of the paper with pencil, then use a rubber to remove the tree shape and now we can add shading.
Science
We have been learning about the heart circulation, the route the blood takes around the body. When the blood goes to the heart it is blue, but when it has visited the lungs to collect oxygen it turns red on our drawings. G h
PE
Hockey! We are learning how to dribble, stop and pass.
Break time and Lunch time
We play football when it’s our turn on the rota because we can go on the field because the field is dry.
