Parents of Class Three,
Well, what a year it has been! There has been so many exciting things going on over the last few weeks that I haven’t written my blog (I’m not very good at keeping on top of the blog at the best of times). Purple learning week, multicultural week, French day, sports day, prize giving and sharing assemblies – just to name a few!
On Thursday we had Mr Lawson (Suzanna’s dad) come in to teach us more about our science topic – light! We got to see white light being split into the colours of the rainbow using a spectra (a homework created by Suzanna). The children had some fascinating questions about light, and we were all really impressed by Mr Lawson’s wealth of knowledge on the subject. To build up the excitement for our special visitor, we also had a science day where we had a carousel of activities and experiments to do with light. The children discovered a number of fascinating things such as the way light travels through different objects and colours.
I just wanted to say, what a wonderful year it has been and how much I have enjoyed teaching all of your children this year! I am really looking forward to ending our fantastic year with a bang at the mad hatter’s tea party on the last day of term.
Mad Hatter’s Tea Party – Wednesday 20th July 2016
The children all received an invite today. It mentions bringing a mad hatter’s hat, don’t worry, we have been making these in class during our D.T sessions. The invitation also mentions bringing treats for the party. Please do not feel pressured to make or buy something for Wednesday. The children will be eating their usual lunches, however if you would like to make something ‘Alice and Wonderland’ themed for the tea party this would be greatly appreciated. This could include sweet or savoury nibbles as well as drinks.
And last but not least… Have a wonderful Summer holiday!
