This week has been Purple Learning Week! Each day we have had a collective worship about a different aspect of learning. On Monday we learned all about our amazing brains and how they can help us learn anything that we want to. Ask us to tell you about the brain pictures that we coloured in and turned into crowns!
Tuesday was Maths Day – we looked at lots of different problems and had to work out how to solve them. We had to do a lot of thinking, discussing and sharing ideas, as well as choosing sensible equipment to help us.
On Wednesday, we found out about ‘The Learning Pit’ – ask us all about it! Activities were centred around the themes of team-building, team sports, collaboration and mindfulness.
On Thursday we focussed on collaboration; we are all unique and have our own strengths, but when we work together we can produce fantastic results. This was illustrated by our ‘Purple Art’ – we all decorated a single tile in our own individual way, then put all the tiles together to create a huge and very impressive work of art!
Finally, on Friday, we thought about the importance of constructive feedback and how we can use this to improve and develop. Ask us about the Austin’s butterfly video that we watched.
This week was Mr Cosford’s last week with us. We have enjoyed having him in the class and the children made him a lovely card to say goodbye and to thank him for his hard work.

Next week we will be going on a class walk on Wednesday morning – please ensure that sunhats and suncream are worn, or raincoats and wellies if the weather doesn’t sort itself out by then!
