This has been another busy and exciting week in school! On Tuesday morning we had the chance to take part in a judo taster session, which we all enjoyed. As part of our Brazilian theme week, we spent the day on Thursday taking part in a range of different activities including: drumming and dancing workshops, mini Olympics, carnival mask-making and creating artwork inspired by the Brazilian artist Romero Britto. Ask us to tell you all about the things we did and what we have learned.
Within our topic lessons we have been writing our own persuasive leaflets to try and convince other people to go on the Oxford Castle trip. Ask us what we included in order to persuade our readers. We also talked about the different types of house that we all live in and created pictograms to show our findings. We discussed how pictograms can be a good way to show information.
In maths we have been practising telling the time on the hour and at half past. Some of us have also started learning about quarter to and quarter past. If you get chance, practising telling the time at home would be really beneficial. Over the next few weeks we will also be practising counting in 2s and 5s – so you might like to practise that with your child too.
