This week we have been busy learning about nocturnal animals such as foxes, hedgehogs, bats and badgers. As a result of our research and reading, we have been learning new words and using the text to answer questions.
We did some drama to demonstrate our newfound knowledge. We pretended to be animals, asking each other questions related to our chosen nocturnal animal. It was fun as we got to wear animal masks. Some of us got to be the Director and use a director’s megaphone to say ‘action’ and ‘cut!’
Next week we are going to use our new knowledge to make animal books.
In maths we have been focusing on sequencing numbers, symmetry, time and addition using partitioning.
Our new history topic is Florence Nightingale who lived about 200 years ago.
Please note, we will not be doing our SATs until later on in June. We are trying to keep things calm and as normal as possible for the children so as not to stress them. However, we are working hard and polishing our skills! Please let me know if you have any concerns.
Homework task: To write about nocturnal animals. ( homework in folder )
