The first week back is always a struggle but I am happy to say the children seem less tired this week now that they are in their stride. This week they are keen to learn and we have had a very productive week.
In our maths lessons we have been getting to grips with times tables and the concept of multiplication. We have been using a range of strategies such as using counters, drawings, counting in multiples, writing them down in different ways and using formal written methods.
In literacy we have continued to writing instructions and have been learning how important it is to use verbs at the beginning of instructions ( bossy verbs). We have also been learning the rules for adding ing onto the end of verbs.
Continuing with our Great Fire of London topic, we have been making Tudor houses. Everyone has worked really hard and with great care to make a Tudor house and I am sure you will agree they look absolutely fabulous.
Homework task: Practise the 2, 4, 5 or 10 times tables.
